There is something brewing in Africa that will have epic consequences for the entire world. Here’s the background: · A treaty between the European Union and African countries is up for renewal. The new treaty will be in force for the next 20 years.

As an African,the signing of the treaty by the African States, really depends on a multiple factors.In all honesty the African governments political system has been defiled right from the period of colonialism and if history is correct even prior to the entry of colonialist.For the longest time,Africa has been caught up ,in terms of decision making especially in international relations.Why? Because the international system is not equal,even though in the West Phalian Treaty all states ,that have attained the recognition of Statehood,are to be regarded as Equal States.
The imbalance of power among states in the international arena,the effects are felt most by the "weak states" (those that are not as powerful).
Africa,regardless of the strides they have made,have not yet define their statehood status,in order to take their rightful position as powerful continent that it is.It is not until we Africans respect ourselves,that the world will learn to accord us respect.
