A Potent Reminder on Independence Day
NYC Just Chose an Openly Socialist Nominee for Mayor: What this Means for Families
As you may have heard, NYC just rejected their former governor, Andrew Cuomo, as the democratic nominee for mayor in favor of an openly socialist opponent named Zohran Mamdani.
There are few ideas in the history of the world that have failed as miserably and as consistently as socialism and its ugly stepsister, communism. And yet, the rising generation of today (and the parents who raised them) with their sometimes-laudable sensitivity to equality and fairness, seems especially prone to fall for the empty (and deadly) promises of socialism.
Mamdani promised supporters at a recent watch party, "I will fight for a city that works for you, that is affordable for you, that is safe for you." He plans to make everything functionable, affordable, safe, and by (in part):
Freezing rent prices
Implementing free public transit
Creating city-owned grocery stores that are not focused on “making a profit"
Instituting “free” universal childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years
In other words, he plans to take over key functions of free societies and families. Unfortunately, history shows that despite Mamdani’s unfounded promises, where socialism reigns, functioning society contracts, people starve, and nowhere is safe.
The Most Prosperity for the Most People
As I highlight in my book, The Invincible Family, socialism is anti-family at its very core. By design, it seeks to weaken bonds between parents and children, subsume the responsibilities of parents, and seize control of what would otherwise be sources of income and opportunity for families. One of the key responsibilities socialists seek to wrench from parents is “the care and education of children.” You will notice this is one of Mamdani’s top priorities.
The truth is, if we want to ensure the most human rights and the most prosperity for the most people, we must maintain the system initiated and perpetuated by the anatomy of human bodies themselves: THE FAMILY. Though families are never perfect, they consistently provide the essentials of life, freedom, love, property, stability, and prosperity to the greatest number of people.
We are already a society showing dire signs of decay and disintegration. I fear NYC, a city I love to visit, will soon decay beyond recognition and perhaps beyond repair as the specter of socialism overtakes its towers and sweeps through its streets and turns the citizens of that glittering city into soulless, greedy, impoverished but entitled dependents who demand everything but give little (except in taxes, of course.)
Stand strong, New York City. Stand strong against socialism. Reject anyone who embraces it. Refuse to believe that socialism or “democratic socialism” is anything but death wearing lipstick.
The best way to fight socialism is to teach your family the truth about socialism and capitalism, to foster a love of freedom in your family, and to vote against socialism every time it raises its hideous head—no matter how charismatic the messenger.
Next time I’ll provide you with a list of resources (don’t miss it!) for teaching your family about socialism and its lethal dangers.
In the meantime, LET FREEDOM RING!
With love,
Kimberly
